Dual Dynamometer Differential Effectiveness Analysis (D³EA®) testing allows aftermarket brake manufacturers to verify whether their products are consistent with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for brake performance in new passenger vehicles.
D³EA® testing is conducted with vehicle-specific hardware and test conditions and determines which pads are suitable for a vehicle’s brakes. The front and rear brake components are tested simultaneously to measure braking performance.
D³EA® testing is available for different vehicle configurations. The test simulates a vehicle’s weight and speed and measures the effectiveness of friction materials to determine their performance relative to that required by each vehicle. This test provides the manufacturer and the consumer with an objective basis for deciding which friction materials should be installed on a given vehicle.
Greening Testing Laboratories is the only lab to conduct D³EA® testing. This certification ensures customer satisfaction and confidence and takes the guesswork out of determining the workload ratio between the front and rear braking systems.
